The problem is I only have one slot that works (unless I permanently take out my sound card) where my modem currently is. Whenever I try to use my third slot, I get a message in device manager saying an interrupt request must be assigned in BIOS (perhaps due to a defective IRQ table). I haven't managed to do that successfully.

Thanks
Chris

: Move the USB card to another slot *so that it shares the same IRQ as the other controller*. If you see no other controller, go into BIOS setup and enable USB.

: : Hi,

: : I'm having problems with a Belkin USB BusPort 2-port PCI card. I'm running on windows 98. I've installed the OPTi 82C861 PCI to USB Open Host Controller with no problems, and it shows up in device manager. However, the USB root hub, when it tries to install (with the correct drivers from windows 98) results in a blue screen with the error message "0028:FF027006 in VXD openhci(01) + 00003C86". In device manager the USB root hub has a yellow exclamation mark over it. Under 'properties' it states a code 11 fault, suggesting a driver problem. I have all the correct files (usb.cat, openhci.sys, uhcd.sys, usb.inf, usbd.sys, usbhub.sys), so why is this happening? Is there a fault in one of my drivers?

: : Also, in 'IRQ steering' it says 'IRQ Disabled, IRQ table has some errors'. I don't know whether this bears on the situation, as other PCI devices work in the same PCI slot I'm using.

: : Please help, I've been battling over this one for days...Belkin were no help to me
