A7V266 and ALi usb drivers? => the A7V266 is a VIA KT266 based mobo.
A7A266 is the ALi based mobo.
Latest bios vesion 1010 beta 1: ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/Socket_A/ALI_Chipset/ALI_Magik_1/A7A266/1010__01.zip
The ALi Magik1 chip uses 6 pci irqs. The usb controller is assign on INT-E irq. No othe pci device uses this INT line.
Maybe it´s an ACPI problem.

: Questions:
: Windows version?
: Is the ALi controller sharing an IRQ? Look in System Information.
