I would try removing the root hub and host controller in Safe Mode. I would tidy up a bit in there too. Unplug all USB devices before you restart. estart and try again.

: I plug my harddrive into the usb port (usb 1.1) and it says its a USB 2 device and it will have to run slower. Im alright with this. At this point now, the system locks 90% of the time. So i try until i get it installed. Once installed if i access it or copy things to it, i ofcourse lock up..... the system becomes very unstable.... i have tried the HD on my PC, and it works fine, no errors/problems with it..
