Open System Information (MSINFO32.EXE) and navigate to Hardware Resources > IRQs. Click anywhere in the right pane and then press CTRL-A and then CTRL-C. You have copied that data to the clipboard. Paste that data in a reply here.

: - Micron Millenium PC I've just upgraded with the following:
: - IWILL XP333-R (RAID Controller) MB
: - Athlon 1800+ processor
: - 256Mb PC2100 DDR RAM

: The system already had this:
: - Windows 98SE, latest drivers according to WinDoze Update.
: - 60Gb hard drive C:
: - 40Gb hard drive D:
: - 40x CDROM
: - 40x DVDROM
: - 3COM 10/100 Ethernet card
: - USR 56K internal PCI datafax modem
: - Soundblaster Live sound card
: - Diamond Viper V700 video card
: - Microsoft Intellipoint Optical Mouse (USB)
: - UMAX Scanner (USB)
: - HP Deskjet color printer (USB)
: - connected via Ethernet LAN to an HP 1100A laserjet

: I replaced the Micron MB, 600Mhz Intel CPU, and memory with the Athlon system described above. Disabled the RAID controller and on-board sound on the IWILL mb. Enabled the USB controller in BIOS and plugged in my mouse to USB port 1. System booted up, ran fine, mouse worked. Installed ALI hd controller, still ran fine. Rebooted, everything worked.

: Then I plugged in my USB scanner and USB color printer, rebooted, and got a Blue Screen of Death. I unplugged them, rebooted, and the system hung during Windows initialization. Disabled the onboard USB controller, moved the mouse to the PS/2 port, and it still hung on the Windows screen. After many hours of fussing with BIOS settings and trying to get a good Bootlog, I gave up and reinstalled Windows from the CD. Once again, everything ran fine up to the point I plugged in the USB scanner and printer.

: I installed a 4-port USB 2.0 card (was going to do that anyway) and it did exactly the same thing. I can understand WinDoze having problems with a USB device, I can understand a corrupted USB driver. I can't understand disabling/removing these devices and the system STILL not booting up & having to be reinstalled.
