Do as I have suggested. Unplug all USB devices and start the WinXP setup again. No need to format. Start setup and when you are told that there is already an OS present, choose Repair.

: : The drivers are very much built-in to XP. You can, however, download new ones here:

: : Is USB enabled in BIOS setup? Has it worked before on this PC?

: : If you updated another version of Windows, unplug all USB devices and restart setup. When prompted, choose Repair.

: : : I am using Win XP and my device manager is not updating my driver for my Intel 82371 AB/EB USB Controller...I have not USB Root Hub at all neither...If someone knows how to fix this problem or can tell me where i can go to get updated XP drivers for it, please get back with me ASAP...Thank you...

: How do i see if the USB is enabled in my BIOS...and yes when i had WIN 98 on my pc, the usb worked fine and the root hub was there also...
