W/O SSUSB port listed under "Print to following Port" you will not get the printer to work( there should be a ssusb.inf or Samsungusb.inf in the inf folder ). Try to reinstall the drivers. There are new drivers on the Web: http://samsungelectronics.com/printer/support/downloads/400329_737_file2.html

: Open System Information (MSINFO32.EXE) and navigate to Hardware Resources > IRQs. Click anywhere in the right pane and then press CTRL-A and then CTRL-C. You have copied that data to the clipboard. Paste that data in a reply here.
: : Hi,
: : PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE could someone help me before I throw my expensive hard-earned equipment out of the upstairs window?! I will explain my problem in extreme detail, to make it as easy as possible for anyone wishing to help me to arrive at a successful solution.
: : I have posted my problem on TEN message boards, but NOTHING has worked so far. One of the MANY, MANY replies I've received was the link to this site, so here I am. I have also emailed Samsung AND the place where I bought my Samsung printer, TWICE, but I did not recieve any replies. Seems like they are not interested in your problems unless you phone their expensive phone numbers for technical support. I cannot afford this, ESPECIALLY not after buying this printer!!!
: : Anyway, I've just bought a Samsung ML-1250 Laser Printer as a companion for my computer which runs Windows 98 Second Edition, and here is what happened...
: : After unwrapping everything, I fitted the toner cartridge into the printer, placed a few papers into the input slot, pushed the paper width guide to hold the paper snugly in place, connected one end of a Hewlett Packard USB cable to the printer and the other end to my computer's USB port, plugged one end of the printer's power cord to the printer and the other end to the electrical wall socket, pressed the 'On' switch on the printer, held down the 'Demo' button on the printer for about two seconds...and the 'Demo Page' printed out perfectly. (The Printer is working correctly!!!)
: : I then turned my computer on and the 'Add new hardware' dialog box appeared automatically. I followed a few steps which included inserting the CD-ROM which came with the printer. I clicked 'Install the Samsung software on your pc' (from the CD-ROM's menu). I was informed that the software installed successfully. The icon for the 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6' printer appeared in the 'Printers' folder. Also, 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6' and 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6 printer maintenance' appeared in the 'Start' button's 'Program' menu.
: : I tried printing a 'Word 97' document, but nothing would print. I got time-out messages, so I increased the time, but no it still didn't work. I tried to install the USB driver, UNSUCCESFULLY. I did some research and figured that I had to uninstall everything and then install it all again. So I uninstalled everything (I think) by deleting 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6' and 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6 printer maintenance' from the 'Start' button's 'Program' menu. (The 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6' printer icon in the 'Printers' folder was also deleted.) I turned the printer and the computer off and disconnected the USB cable from both of them. I then turned the computer and the printer on and then plugged the USB cable into the printer's port and the other end into computer's USB port. THE 'ADD NEW HARDWARE DIALOG BOX DID NOT APPEAR'!!! I attempted many various sequences of turning off, disconnecting, turning on, connecting, etc, but the 'Add new hardware' dialog box JUST DID NOT APPEAR, no matter in which order I did the connecting/disconnecting.
: : I am currently at the stage where I have removed the ML-1250 from the 'Add/Remove programs' menu, deleted 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6' and 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6 printer maintenance' from the 'Start' button's 'Program' menu, unplugged the USB cable from the back of my computer, turned the computer off, turned the computer back on, installed the printer driver which came with the printer on CD-ROM, then plugged the USB cable back into the computer (WINDOWS DID NOT DETECT IT). My printer's icon appears in the 'Printers' menu, 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6' and 'Samsung ML-1250 PCL6 printer maintenance' appears in the 'Start' button's 'Program' menu, my printer's name appears in 'Power Properties' (Device Manager->minus sign next to 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'->'USB Root Hub'->'Properties'->'Power'->'Power Properties'). (My printer's name appears in the 'Devices on this hub' list.) I then go to the 'Printers' folder, right-click my printer's icon and click 'Properties' and click the 'Details' tab. My USB port IS NOT LISTED in the 'Print to the following port' list. Only the following are listed:- COM1: (Communications Port), COM2: (Communications Port), COM3: (..my modem is here..), FILE: (Creates a file on disk) and LPT1: ECP Printer Port. (My printer's name DOES appear in the 'Print using the following driver' list though.
: : How do I get my USB port to be listed here?
: : WHAT DO I DO NOW??? (Any sort of help would be ENORMOUSLY appreciated). Thank you very much.
