Subject:   WINDOWS SLOWS DOWN AFTER plugging in USB Reader

Message Posted

OS: an IBM machine (not clone), running Windows XP
Host Controller: Via Rev 5 (?????)

I have an "PQI Trave Flash USB reading" which basically is a reader for my digital camera memory card.

I never had this problem before installing windows XP:

When I plug in my USB card reader, my windows all of a sudden slows down, like the CPU is being used 100%, everything runs slow to a point where I have to reboot.

By fluke, once I installed this driver and during the install it said "USB enabled". After that I plugged in my card reader again and it worked!! But afterwards is failed again.

I'm sure ppl are having the same problem but with a different twist.

Thank you
