The onboard and Opti are *not* sharing IRQs. Move the card to another slot and "reset NVRAM/ESCD/Configuration Data (in BIOS) each time you switch. In Safe Mode remove all Root hubs and Host Controllers *in that order*. Do this until they share one IRQ.
The ALi may give you trouble, but the Opti should work.

: : : : I did move it to an other slot . its now in the first from the top. and they share the same irq first it was 11 now it is 10 and there are no conflics and shares with other irq....it simply shows 2 unknown devices that are disabled by windows....

: : : : : Try moving the Opti to another slot. They must share the same IRQ.

: : : : : : Hi i must say that i have almost tried everything i came across with no results what so ever. No here we go:
: : : : : : under Me ( but also under 2k and win98 cuz i checked) in device manager under usb-controllers there are 2 unknown devices listed.
: : : : : : The usb card is an opti 82C861 with 2 ports that seems to be installed and functioning correctly.
: : : : : : The mainbord is a m575 of pcchips whitch seems to be discontinued: the last update goes to 062498. i updated, did a safe mode removal of the usb controller and rebooted. but nothing changed. There seems to be some usb onboard support because i can enable onchip usb in bios and also some usb for dos support. when i enable the onchip or onbord usb in bios the controllers are shown in device manager but there are no ports ( apparently the where optional)I tested with usbready and said that there were no problems. When i plug a device one port disappears and the other port shows an yellow exclamation mark. The device switches on for a sec. and dies.I tried installing it manually but did not accept. removing and booting brings back the 2 unknown devices. Question could it be solved with usb 2.0 or is it mainly my mainbord that is the problem cause i don't know anymore...some advice would be appriciated...
