Normal USB modem behavior. My advice is to switch right back to Ethernet.

: I have a cable modem that was priginally connected to my computer via ethernet. But I needed the slot that was occupied by my network card, so I removed it and began using my modem via USB. The problem whenever I transfer a large amount of data (though the use of file-sharing programs)my modem loses connection to the computer and I have to unplug and plug the usb cable back in again. However when I'm just surfing the web, I can stay on all day without a problem. Any suggestions? I'm using Windows XP Pro and an RCA cable modem.
