Leave the software. Remove all USB drivers for devices attached to the card from Device Manager. Remove the root hubs and host controllers in that order. Shut down and swap cards. Reboot, reinstall. That's all. Bill : I have been using the ADS TurboQuad 4-port USB 1.1 PCI card and just bought a 6-port the ADS USB Turbo 2.0 card. I am using Win XP (Home). How should I proceed with the upgrade? Can I just shut down the computer, unplug all the devices from the old card, pull out the old card, insert the new card, plug all the devices into the new card, and turn the machine back on? I am afraid of getting ghost devices in Device Manager. Should I somehow uninstall each device? Or could I just add the new card *in addition to* the old card (that would give me 15 USB ports -- too many?). Thanks for your advice.
