You will have to enable USB in BIOS setup, Denise.
Restart the PC. Press the Delete key or F10 when you see the PC checking memory (almost immediately). Once in BIOS setup, you must look for "USB Function", "IRQ for USB" and/or "USB Keyboard" and enable it/them. Once you do, Windows should install the USB ports. If Windows asks for drivers, Browse to:
If no joy for the files, use the Find function to search your hard drive for BASE*.CAB. Where you find that file is where you Browse to for the drivers.
: I am trying to upload my pictures from my digital camera and it comes with a USB cable. I have the ports back there, but when I go to device manager- it's not there. I knew I had a problem when I had to change my printer cable, but the camera can't do that.The computer is running Windows 98 and was given to me, so I do not have a cd for it. Is there anything I can do?
