I purchased a CannonScan n670u to use on the road with my Compaq (XP personal) notebook. The major attraction of the Cannon scanner was its portability --- it is small, has a lock down cover, and is powered thru the USB port.The scanner works fine with my (older) Compaq desktop.
During install on the notebook, it was recognized correctly when I booted with it attached, and loaded all the software.
When I try to use it, I'm getting the message now that it is not attached. I strongly suspect that the feature of being powered by the USB port & using it with a notebook may be the root of the problem (but the scanner sure looks like it was meant to be part of a traveling pair).
I've been unable to find any information at all about the compatability of this particular pair.
Anyone have any information on this combination?
