Funny...I don't see the NEC "Enhanced" USB Host controller there. You need that.

Are you powering the cardbus adapter? It needs juice.

Open System Information (MSINFO32.EXE) and navigate to Hardware Resources > IRQs. Click anywhere in the right pane and then press CTRL-A and then CTRL-C. You have copied that data to the clipboard. Paste that data in a reply here.

: Unable to install Maxtor Drive until a tech worked with me and we got it to install on the laptop's USB 1.1 port, but not the new I/O Gear USB 2.0 - we thought it defective or incompatible.

: Purchased a BusLink USB 2.0 card bus. It installed fine. So here is where I am now:

: 1. My Logitech USBMouse works fine on the BusLink USB 2.0 card bus (I never thought to try it with the I/O card bus).

: 2. My Maxtor 3000LE USB 2.0 Hard drive does not work on the BusLink USB 2.0 card bus - I get a Disk Write Error:"Unable to Write to Disk" which I also got with the I/O card bus.

: 3. The Maxtor 3000LE works fine using the laptop's USB 1.1 port.

: Information:

: Sony Vaio Laptop

: Device Driver - Universal Serial Bus COntrollers - there are 11 entries.

: 1. Buslink USB 2.0 Host Controller - IR 10
: 2. Maxtor USB Drive
: 3. NEC USB Open Host Controller (E13+) - IR 10
: 4. NEC USB Open Host Controller (E13+) - IR 10
: 5. USB 2.0 Root Hub Drive
: 6. USB Root Hub - 1 port(self-powered Maxtor USB Drive)
: 7. USB Root Hub - 2 ports(self-powered)
: 8. USB Root Hub - 3 ports (self-powered)
: 9. USB Root Hub - 1 port (USB Optical WheelMouse)
: 10. VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller - IR 9
: 11. VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller - IR 9

: USB Hardware I have:

: 4-port Buslink USB 2.0 Card bus (this can be self-powered. I used it plugged into AC and not plugged into AC)
: 4-port Asarte USB Hub (USB 1.1)
: Iomega 100 ZIP Drive (external USB 1.1)
