Have you checked your phone line for noise, Stuart? Connect a phone to the line and pick up the receiver. Dial 1 to clear the dial tone. Hear noise? Call BT.

: I`ve just bought a dynamode 56k usb fax/voice modem model M56-EXT and have finally managed to connect using it despite there not being proper drivers for it on the cd. When I connect the dial noise is quite fuzzy compared to my internal modem and the connection speed is quite a bit less. My other modem is a win modem and operates around the speed of a 28k(despite being a 56k). I am wondering if anyone knows the exact drivers I shopuld be using for this usb modem and what could be causing the increased noise?
