I have Win 98 and a desperate need for additional
drive space. I have decided on a maxtor 3000 40gb,
usb 2.0.

My question: the info for the drive does not list
win 98 as a supported operating system, I assume
that is just for the 2.0 as it says it is backward
compatible with 1.1?

I am purchasing a pci 2.0 maxtor card with the drive
which also says it is backward compatible (my two
existing usb ports are occupied). Will the drive work if plugged into the 2.0 card (albeit at the 1.1 speed)?

What exact files does Win 98 SE have that I would need to get in order to utilize the 2.0 standard?
