Did you check your writer software for maybe needed updates for proper USB2 support?

: : : Ive recently installed my new USB 2.0 Predator CDRW drive in my Compaq Presrio laptop, which is running XP Pro. XP reconizes the burner and the burner can read CDs, but I am unable to burn any type of CD. Ive tried using different brands of CDs and tried burning a slower speeds. So, I connected the CDRW to a normal USB 1.0, and it will burn CDs without any problems. Also, Im using a PUC-102 host adapter. Im thinking the adapter may be faulty, since it allows reading but not writting. Any one have some suggestions?
