Actually, I would swap the sound card and the ADS.

: Right now my ATi Radeon video card is in PCI no 1 slot and the ADS card is in no 2. The NIC is pretty far down (no 4 or 5). Should I try to swap the positions of the video card and the USB card?

: : Not unusual. Try moving the card to another slot. Try swapping the NIC (if you have one) with another card. After each swap, enter BIOS and enable Reset Configuration Data or ESCD. Also clean up DevMgr in Safe Mode.

: : : Could my new ADS USB Turbo 2.0 PCI card be slowing down WinXP's bootup? After installing this card I have noticed the following new behavior: when the WinXP screen appears (the screen with the green hash marks progress meter) my optical USB mouse (which is plugged into the ADS card) goes dead (its red light blinks off) and the bootup stalls for a good 20 seconds. Then the mouse lights up again and bootup continues. Is this normal behavior? I never had this 20-second hiatus in bootup before.
