A card would help and a USB 2.0 card would improve your love life as well. Oh...nevermind!
Pick up the ALi drivers here:

See if they help.

: Hi, I seen some previous discussion on this problem but no answers. Maybe someone has additional info since then.
: I just purchased a plantronics DSP-500 headset with USB connection. I hooked it up to a A7A266 AMD motherboard with a 933 mhz AMD processor and the Ali chipset (southbridge chipset is 1535D+).
: The headset works fine in windows (both sound and recording) but in certain games (ex. Medal of Honor) the sound plays for a short while and then cuts out and nothing more. Even exiting the game does not get the sound back, I have to reboot to get it back.
: I have all my BIOS settings at the default, have loaded the latest drivers from Asus, Plantronics and Ali but sofar the same problem.
: If I am reading the Q&A postings, the fix seems to be to go out and get a separate PCI USB board? Is this the recommended approach (if no-one found another fix).
: Should I go with an external Hub? or internal?
: Since I am still running win98SE should I go to USB 2.0? or will that just cause more problems?
: Thanx for any help in advance.
: Gary.
