Are any other USB devices functioning on this system? I ask because there is a well-known flaw in earlier Toshiba laptops where the NEC was non-functional.

You may need to purchase a Cardbus USB adapter or contact Toshiba for satisfaction.

: I have Toshiba Portege 3020running Windows 98SE with NEC Open host controller. I have installed all the updates
: I could find and still my problem persists. When I attach my USB GPS antenna, I am prompted for installation drivers.
: I provided the cd, the drivers are found and files begin to copy and then it stops. I press ctrl/alt/del and stop "New
: Hardware Found (not responding)" and the system freezes. I have installed it successfully in my desktop and a usb
: mouse works in this machine. USB is sharing IRQ11 with Video, IR port and Card Bus controller and the bios won't let me
: change any of that. Also, installed Win2000 & WinXP and have the same results.
