Usually happens when the camera is not turned on when installed. No memory card installed when installation is attempted. Multiple attempts at installation has fouled the Device Manager. USB is not correctly configured on the system.

: When you plug the camera into the usb port you should receive a message saying that the computer has found a mass storage device, instead I receive a message saying that it has found a PC camera with no option to install the mass storage driver, which in turn prevents the camera being seen as removable drive.
: operating system: windows 98 SE, camera: fuji finepix a101. USB driver: mass storage V2.0 and PC camera V1.1
