So now I got a brand new machine with Pentium 4 2.26 GHz CPU with many other bells and whistles but still running Windows 2000. However, when I attach the same camera with the same cable I consistently get "device not found... check to see device is properly connected" message - even after re-installing the driver several times. Then I replaced the USB 1 cable with a new USB2 cable and walah everything works fine. Just to make sure I took the old USB 1 cable and attached it to another USB device on another computer and everything is fine there, so I know that the old USB 1 cable did not go bad. So what is going on here?
