No. USB 2.0 cables are labeled as such. Some older 1.1 cables will work as USB 2.0, but only the best qualify.

Not that I'm aware of. We use single files sized 10MB, 50MB, 100MB and 150MB and time the transfer with the system clock. Hey - it works!
