First of all, it would help if you told us which Buslink product you have. They only make about 20 items. Second, the Windows version is important.

If this is CDRW, any item you write to CDR is read only by it's very nature. It cannot be deleted or removed from a CD. While it can be copied to hard disk, it will carry over the attributes that it had on the CD and must have the Read Only attribute removed manually. If you initially used CDRW(re-writable) disks, the files written to it are not Read Only because the disk is rewritable and files can be changed and moved about. Say you started out using a CDRW and then suddenly started using CDR disks. That would explain the change.

If this is a hard drive, it's a whole other ball of wax. I have no idea.

Now you see why it's important to know which Buslink device you're talking about.

: I had no problem getting my BUSlink installed and running. I moved all of my pictures from computer to it. I have been opening them without any problems for about a month. Then suddenly this week-end for some unknown reason they all were converted to "read only". Can anyone tell me why this happened??
: What do I need to do to correct it??
: Thanks,
: Shelby
