First Bootmanger don't need any driver to load any OS because they use Bios services to access the disks, including SCSI. Example: The NT Bootloader don't need any Driver to show the menu when it's on SCSI.
(But you driver when windows will be started)
Dos is bootable via USB look on www.netac.com -> Bootable-Pro Only Disk.
They have tools to make the usb storage bootable, it will copy dos to the hdd, but it will not work with my MD2-USB :/ )
The information for Linux driver is for other users, who have problems with their MD2-USB in Linux.
