(Windows 2000 SP 2) (Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller)Hi! Don't know if the above is the information you need? Anyway, this is my question: I use an Athen CS-102U USB KVM to work with two computers (one for work), using the same keyboard and mouse (Logitech cordless desktop pro keyboard, Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 mouse). On my work-computer I run Windows 2000, and on the other Win XP. The problem I'm having is that when I switch between the two computers, it takes quite a few seconds before the usb devices are recognized and usable. When switching from XP to 2k, it takes about 2-3 seconds, but sometimes the devices aren't recognized at all and I'll have to switch back and forth. When switching from 2k to XP, it always recognizes the devices (3-4 seconds), but then there is a delay of about 5 seconds before I can use the devices. This has not been the case before. It used to work instantly (well, 3-4 seconds) but not any more. The only thing I can think of is that I have a Saitek game-controller on the XP system. But I have tried removing it's drivers, without any performance difference. Is this behaviour normal? Should I then get a PS/2 KVM instead for fast switching, or do they also switch "slow"? My KVM didn't come with a trafo, so it isn't regarded as a self-powered hub. Does this affect anything? Oh, and I don't have any other devices plugged into the kvm except for kbd and mouse. Thank's in advance! Anders Gallon Programmer
