Unplug the drive
Boot to BIOS and Disable Com 1 and Com 2
Reboot
After you reboot plug the drive in again.

: USB 2.0 works fine. RIght now have and external CDRW hooked up to it. Problems are
: 1. When booted, an entry in the error log says:
: The Maxtor PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller service failed to start due to the following error:
: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
: 2. Cannot remedy the above by leaving the drive turned on because when I do, Bootup hangs at a black screen until I turn it off.
: 3. USB 1.1 device is not detected when connected to the card. Specifically a new HP PSC 2210.
: 4. Although drivers came with the card, when I tell Windows to use them, NOTHING works in the ports. When I let Windows install them, it changed them to NEC drivers and I get the problems listed above.
: Any help would be greatly appreciated.
