Look in Device Manager for the "Generic USB Hub". Make sure that they are set so that Windows cannot shut them down to save power. Bill : Hi again Colin!. Thanx for the promt reply. I have updated the drivers for the motherboard and the modem. Do not know what mobo is though??? The exact problem I've been having is that i can connect ok and whilst surfing or just in ICQ, collecting e-mails, the modem works fine, but when I try to play online games or download serveral files, my modem icon turns yellow although the connection icon stays on. I do not semm to recieve or send data at that point. The modem light does not flash. I have to reboot to be able to get the modem back to "ready" status. When I downloaded the newest drivers for it, it made it ten times worse!!! It would even turn yellow when I wasn;t even online!! But it would initialise without rebooting. But This was totally unexceptable, so I re installed the older drivers. I really dont know what else to do now!! Stuck!!! I have heard that installing a USB/PCI card in can solve the problem, but i do not know for sure as yet. Sorry this was a bit long winded. Thanx for your time. Anything else you can come up with would be most appreciated. Thanx again. STeŠ
