After venting my rage some arguments:
Contradicting the standard does not give you any benefits. BTW what do you develop?
Keep in mind that there are many different setups possible for USB. A notebook may have a USB hub which can hand out only 100 mA per port and the circuits may only be able to drive the two ports of the notebook.
Drawing power illegaly from one of the ports may very well kill the circuits which may kill the whole notebook.
Changing the voltage is not possible with software. Tampering with the voltage will affect all ports and i expect some devices to fail then.
