: 1- how can I get my USB 1.1 to work as a 2.0, and is there a way to transform it into a firewire? That is silly. You need a hardware upgrade. There are PCMICA (Cardbus) USB 2.0 adapters. There are also Firewire adapters. I don't know of any combination Cardbus adapters. : 2- how many simultaneuous devices connected to a USB can I have plugged in my laptop and still have them all working properly? Not too many. Most laptops have one USB port. If you add a card, that would be two more ports. You can use a USB hub of good quality for many devices, but not all. Sam's Club has a lovely two-hub set for about $27 by Stratitec. It's the best hub set I've ever tested. Frankly, I must say that you're asking for trouble to expect that much from a laptop. The power drain alone is phenominal. You need a desktop, really. Bill
