No answers here, just the same problem. Trying to install a Belkin 5 port USB 2.0 PCI card on a DFI motherboard with a VIA chipset.
Have pulled all my other PCI cards and tried every slot with and without USB enabled in the BIOS, Flashed to the most current BIOS version, installed new VIA drivers, assigned IRQ's to PCI slots manually, attempted to manually load the drivers Belkin says should be installed for the card, performed a clean install of both Windows 98se and ME all with the same result...Windows doesn't see the card.
Called tech support. Their answer was to exchange the card. Of course the new one didn't work either.
This looks like it might be some sort of problem between the VIA chipset and the card-there's a couple of other old posts with pretty much the same problem. Would love to know if anyone has ever managed to get this to work and how.
: If the onboard USB controller is not enabled in BIOS, there's a very good chance that an add-in card will not be recognized. A BIOS update is advised.

: : I've got exactly the same USB Card and found it not recognized by the bios of my DFI board. In my other PCs the card works fine. I think there is an incompatibility problem between the motherbord and the card.
