: It all started when I got a Mad Catz Andretti racing wheel. I hooked it up to a USB port, installed drivers ran a game (NFS High Stakes I believe). In the middle of the game, the wheel stops working. Looking in gaming controllers, the wheel was no longer there. Looking at USB, it said unrecognized device.
: Unplugged it, plugged it back in. Windows pops up a message in the system tray saying unrecognized. Reboot, the wheel is back, but disappears again after a while. Thought it was a problem with the wheel (which when detected, worked perfectly). Since Mad Catz didn't support it anymore, I put the wheel away to deal with the problem later.
: Now, I plug in my USB scanner (Canon Canoscan N1240U). Doesn't scan at all. After a while, it too becomes an unrecognized device.

: I have installed the newest non-beta BIOS for my motherboard (1007). I don't see anything else I can do.
: Oh, in the BIOS, I have tried enabling USB legacy devices, doesn't seem to make a difference.
: Can somebody help? Should I install the VIA 4n1s (even though VIA Arena tells me not to?)
