Excuse my long introduction and multiple post, but doing research for some days now, and reading your nice
site as well as others and searching for dirvers, i thougt some details could help to track the issue down.
Problem is my USB Flash Stick (USB2) is not beeing recognized by Windows XP allthough the manufaturer and all others of equivalent products state it to be unecessary to add any driver to the system. The PC-System OEM manufacturer did not know any solution. SiS does not seem to offer any updated USB driver. XP acknolages there was new hardware added and pops up the wizzard, but does not find an apropriate driver on disk, internet, or if manual selected does not present me any massstoragedriver/HDdriver/USBdevice.
Other USB and USB2 devices like a DVD Player, CD Burner, and Multicardreader work fine.
The Stick itself works fine on two other Win2k systems.
I am not sure if ACPI is really OFF as the Computer is labeld ACPI-Uniprozessor-PC in the device manager and i did not install the OS myself.
My Humble idea was that i could maybe adapt a driver from another manufacturer if someone could point me to one or to only tweak the regestry if i only knew how.
Sory.... that was long again....
