Subject:   Disappearing USB controllers

In a recent formating and upgrade to Windows ME I seem to have lost my USB all together. I've been trying to connect an HP digital camera and when I finally opened system devices I found that my USB has completely disappeared. Anyone have any advice as to my course of action?
